Nutrition Advisory Council Seeking Valuable Feedback Pomptonian is committed to creating a healthy food environment. We believe that giving students a variety of healthy options will encourage them to make nutritious choices.

As part of our service to the district, Pomptonian helps coordinate a Nutrition Advisory Council (NAC), comprised of students, parents, and faculty members. During the meetings, these representatives discuss their school’s cafeteria operation and Nutrition Program. Topics include determining what the students like about the program and the areas they feel can be enhanced to better meet their needs. It is at these meetings that we can learn what new services the students might enjoy seeing added to their program. NAC meetings also give us the opportunity to answer the students’ and parents’ questions about their program and the rules that govern what we serve. Another topic frequently discussed is current nutritional trends. Pomptonian seeks input from students on healthy dining options they feel would be well received. We also meet with students informally in the lunchroom. This gives us the opportunity to get feedback more often from a larger group of students.
