The age-old myth about the taste of school cafeteria food holds no sway in the Caldwells.
In a recent report from Niche.com which ranked the “Best Schools” in New Jersey, West Essex Regional Schools in North Caldwell was named as the institution with the eighth-best food service in New Jersey.
According to a release, the report ranked 3,868 school districts nationwide and based its findings on 580,000 opinions regarding quality, variety and various dietary preferences (including vegan and gluten-free food.)
“This is wonderful news… We work really hard to keep the cafeteria running smoothly,” said Danielle Goergen, the West Essex Regional School District’s food service director.
The district’s food service is provided by Pomptonian Food Service of Fairfield.
The West Essex Regional School District ranked 32nd overall, according to the Niche.com study.
