Learning About Nutrition is a Priority at Westbrook

WEST MILFORD — Pomptonian Food Service recently partnered with Westbrook Elementary School to present a “Nutrition and Wellness Fair” on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

“This event is designed to educate and inform students about making food choices for a healthy diet,” said Jessica Mojkowski, Pomptonian’s administrative project coordinator for the event. “The fair features numerous hands-on exhibits, games, and stations highlighting the different food groups.”

Mojkowski said students rotated through interactive stations to learn about healthy eating habits, expanding the variety of foods in their diet – adding more fruits, vegetables, and grains to the foods they already eat, constructing a diet lower in fat, and learning of the importance of exercise.

Mojkowski said the program is provided by Pomptonian Food Services, which “partners with individual school districts to create an environment where students can learn about a healthy lifestyle. Health and wellness are a top priority at the Westbrook School in West Milford and the fair was a good fit with the school’s curriculum.”
