Pomptonian’s unique program reinforces our nutrition education efforts. Elementary school students nominate names for their cafe and then vote on the winner. At the Grand Opening celebration, the cafeteria is transformed with the new name. The new décor package includes inspirational messages reminding students to make healthy lifestyle choices.

The name selected by students is featured on colorful signs that coordinate with our nutrition education posters, elementary menus, and are incorporated into the classroom nutrition curriculum. A Grand Opening, complete with ribbon cutting and visiting dignitaries, is held for students. The promotion encourages students to think about the importance of nutrition and how to promote positive dining choices in their school.
