West Essex Regional and Caldwell-West Caldwell School Districts Rank in Top 100 for Niche.com 2015 Best Food in School Rankings

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ – Niche.com has announced the results of its 2015 Best Food in School rankings with the West Essex Regional School District ranked #8 in NJ and the Caldwell-West Caldwell School District ranked No. 75 in NJ.

According to Niche.com, there were 3,868 school districts ranked based on district spending statistics and more than 580,000 opinions on food from 215,000 students and parents. A high ranking indicates the district offers a variety of healthy, quality food options, accommodates various dietary preferences like vegan and gluten-free, and the students rate the quality of food favorably.

Pomptonian Food Service, a family-owned company run by Mark and Candy Vidovich of Roseland, said that it has been providing service to the West Essex School District since 2010 The company, which focuses on high-quality, nutritious meals, said it “has been bringing its restaurant flair to schools for more than 50 years.”.

West Essex School District’s Food Service Director, Danielle Goergen said, “This is such wonderful news as we work really hard to keep the cafeteria running smoothly. The kids love it and are really enjoying the serve-to-order Salad Bar. Our Boar’s Head Deli Bar and Paninis are a crowd favorite. Students can even order their favorites on line at the High School.”

Pomptonian said it feeds five of the top 10 school districts in the State. In addition, Pomptonian said that it also had three districts make the National Top 100 list, with two placing in the top 10. In addition, they said they are also pleased to see that 23 of their districts made the top 100 list.
