SUMMIT, NJ – The Summit Public Schools have partnered with their food service provider, Pomptonian Food Service, to offer the Village Fresh School Lunch Program.

Launching in Washington Elementary School April 1 — and extending to all five elementary schools, district-wide, in May — Village Fresh will offer new, freshly prepared, tasty, and visually appealing menu options.

The Village Fresh chefs have created selections using high quality ingredients to result in healthy, kid-appealing meals.  Specialty items include chopped salads, antibiotic and hormone-free chicken and all-natural beef.

Village Fresh offers minimally processed, all-white meat chicken products and Boar’s Head deli selections.  All meals include fresh fruits and fresh vegetables, and a choice of hormone-free milk.  The Village Fresh program also incorporates Jersey Fresh and locally sourced produce when in season.

“This targeted campaign is designed to expand healthy options and their benefits to our elementary schools in furtherance of the total quality school lunch program delivered in the City of Summit’s Public Schools,” says Assistant Superintendent for Business, Louis Pepe, RSBA.

All meals are prepared fresh each day in Summit.
