Pomptonian’s unique Name Your Cafe program reinforces our nutrition education efforts. Elementary school students get involved in their school by nominating names for their cafeteria and then voting on the winner.

The name selected by students is featured on colorful signs that coordinate with our nutrition education posters and elementary menus. A Grand Opening, complete with ribbon cutting and visiting dignitaries, is held for students. The promotion encourages students to think about the importance of nutrition and how to promote positive dining choices in their school.

Students at Allen Roberts School in New Providence voted to name their cafeteria P.R.I.D.E. ISLAND. At the Grand Opening celebration on May 1, 2013, the cafeteria was transformed with the new name. The new décor package includes inspirational messages reminding students to make healthy lifestyle choices.
